Ningyo LAB portrays in parallel how a man and a woman who live in the current time, confront themselves each in his own way. Technological pictures with human postures, when things and hearts are related. Will there be any guarantees for the processes we believe to be good ? What do the ones, walking around, look for every day? Are they satisfied if they reach the destination? Is it possible to stay there ? To cherish lost things ? To take good care of new things ? What will soothe human hearts ?
Experimental LAB that examines human and Ningyo ( puppet). In earlier times it was deemed good for a woman to gently serve men. It was common for her to live her life as she was told. A man learned to manage the world that moved around him and it was common for him to live his life manly. Nowadays, a woman utilizes women’s ways and sometimes men’s ways. A man wants to be manly and play sometimes like a woman.
Society changes. Time speeds up. Aspiration into the mist. Fighting for defending.
Safe way to avoid risks/Staying in safety, avoiding risks. Manipulation. Humans are becoming weak. When both spirit and body suffer, how to get out?

15.30 SPECIES: HUMAN
This work is a reminder that we are one more animal species among others living in this planet, yet we are all together and our needs are not at all so different. We might come from different lands, traditions, we might look different, speak a different language, but we people are exactly the same human species. This work is a dance statement, a reaction about the bad state of our hurt society: racism, poverty, violence…what to do? What does dance art have to say, what does art have to say?
This work is an ancient call from the wisdom of our ancestors, Masters of the wisdom of dance. A call to recognize again ourselves as nature, the pure form of humanness, the root that society is missing.
We are nature and this is what unites us.

Using this body, moving through time and space, as a tool for exploring an idea of language. Trying to make a translation of the flow of life, into a condensed symbol, as a way for understanding and for communication.
Spending the last few years looking into the dualistic concept of “I”, in terms of association with the idea of BEING NATURE, as the actual biological reality this body goes through, and BEING MIND, as a very direct intellectual experience of “REALITY”.

Based on the life of the 17th-century Japanese poet Basho, the performance, Basho: A Wind-Swept Spirit, focuses on his wanderings while developing the unique form of poetry known today as haiku. Accompanied by traditional Japanese stringed music and a Tibetan singing bowl, the 30-minute piece is based on a selection of Basho’s mystical haiku poems and writings, expressed through the ritual movement theatre of Adam Darius and Kazimir Kolesnik. Also included in the performance is Scorpion’s Song, a 7-minute piece. Additionally there is Pierrot In Exile, a 12-minute movement piece, inspired by the Commedia dell’ Arte character.
